David WalkerI'm David Walker. Shorewalker.com is a handy place to put my old newspaper articles and current observations.

I am director of policy and communications for CEDA, Australia's leading economic think-tank and policy forum. Previously I was site general manager and head of customer service at eChoice, one of Australia's best-known mortgage brokers. I have written columns on business use of the Internet and management of information technology for The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald.

I have also occasionally consulted on Web site content management. It's a young enough field that the name confuses some people. Web site content management encompasses:

I work closely with business managers, marketers, sales staff, programmers and designers to make clear statements:

I've delivered a number of Web-based projects over the past seven years, from Australia's first Web site for a major business event - telstrashares.com for the John Fairfax publishing group - to a customer relationship management system to support scores of salespeople. I've worked in cross-disciplinary teams tasked with everything from recruitment to brand redesign, side-by-side with former McKinsey consultants, investment bankers and 30-year finance industry veterans. (See more about my project management philosophy.)

I've also delivered Web site management and strategy advice for several Australian private firms and government bodies. Most recently, I have worked with Australia's leading integrated multimedia design and content house, Icon Inc, a firm dedicating itself to excelling in content management.
